My Undocumented Life

Our mission at My Undocumented Life blog is to provide up-to-date information and resources to undocumented immigrants.  We post scholarship opportunities that are open to undocumented students, strategies for navigating the educational system, information on how to apply for DACA, news on immigration policies, and much more.  Most importantly, we want to provide a sense of community to our diverse group of readers.

Scholarships listed on Immigrants Rising

Immigrants Rising has put together a list of scholarships and fellowships that don’t require proof of U.S. citizenship.  The list has general application eligibility requirements, including education level, region/state, and immigration status (e.g. DACA, TPS, in-stat​e tuition eligibility). Only opportunities with due dates within the next 180 days are shown in the list.  Be sure to look for National scholarships

Golden Door believes immigration status shouldn’t determine opportunity.  Tenacity and hard work should.  Undocumented students invest in their education and define their futures with the Golden Door Scholarship.  Our scholarship program offers not only financial aid but also career readiness support, mentorship, and a vibrant, diverse community.

TheDream.US

Oglethorpe University is the only college in-state that lists TheDream.US as a partner college.  TheDream.US provides scholarships to qualified immigrant students who came to the United States as children, or “DREAMers.”

Freedom University

​Based in Atlanta, Freedom University provides rigorous college preparation classes, college and scholarship application assistance, and social movement leadership training for undocumented students banned from equal access to public higher education in Georgia.

Latino Community Fund Georgia

The Latino Community Fund supports Latino-serving and Latino-led nonprofit organizations and the Latinx community as a whole in Georgia. This support includes advocacy work, program development, technical assistance, grant making and more. Our mission is to be a catalyst for investment, collaborative work, and positive narrative with and within the Latinx/Hispanic community in Georgia. 

Resources from the University of North Georgia

This guide provides undocumented students and counselors with resources to navigate the college application process and financial aid at UNG (En español).  The University of North Georgia enrolls DACA recipients and undocumented students. We have many online degree programs at affordable tuition rates.

Dual Enrollment

Georgia House Bill (H.B.) 444, signed into law in April 2020, allows students, regardless of their immigration status, to participate in dual enrollment programs at no cost.
